How to Invite Demons into Your Life and Home

(And with Them, Disaster)

I recently read a survey of self-professed Christians who involve themselves in what the Bible condemns as occult practice. Here is a sampling of the findings: “Of self-identifying Christians, 16% have consulted a medium or psychic; 24% have used a Ouija board; 10% have performed a séance; 29% believe everyone has the potential to contact the dead; 31% claimed to have spoken with the spirit of someone who has died. And a whopping 54% claim to have received a ‘sign’ from someone who has died.”

Never make the mistake of thinking the unseen supernatural does not exist all around us. Scripture tells us from one end of the Book to the other that the supernatural world in our midst consists of God's righteous angels AND also of fallen angels, which include Satan and all his demons.

Listen! There is a very good reason God has ALWAYS forbidden His people from trying to contact the dead or engaging in ANY OTHER demonic activity, such as following horoscopes, playing with Ouija boards, conducting seances, visiting mediums and spiritists, using Tarot cards, and so forth. Here are only a FEW of the warnings in the bible about talking to the dead and involving oneself in occult practices:

“This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.” (John 3:19) And there is no darkness so thick as Satanic influences.

“Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” (John 8:12) Please know, there is no protection against that darkness and its supernatural and often subtle influences, except to follow the Light of Christ in obedience to His word.

“So Jesus said to them, “For a little while longer the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes. (John 12:35) If a person refuses to obediently follow the Light of Christ, then darkness WILL eventually overtake him or her.

Here are some other commandments of God regarding occult and dark forces:

“Do not turn to mediums or spiritists; do not seek them out to be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.” (Leviticus 19:31)

“Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,  idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (Galatians 5:19-21)   

“Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”(1 Peter 5:8) And the devil WILL devour you if you involve yourself in any occult practice.

“Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.  Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds. (2 Corinthians 11:14-15)

Never think that demons cannot easily pose as deceased family members and friends. Demons have lived since Creation. They know all about us, our histories, and our lives and those of our families and friends.

“And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment” (Hebrews 9:27) In other words, when a person dies, he or she goes immediately to either hades (hell) – awaiting the final punishment of the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:14) or they go to Paradise (heaven) – remember what Jesus said to the dying thief on the cross – “This day you shall be with Me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:43) Also remember the conversation between Father Abraham and the Rich Man in hell.  NO ONE comes back from the dead. “They have Moses and the Prophets – let them read and believe them” (see Luke 16:19-31)

I say this sadly, but I must say it to those with ears to hear: EVERYONE who has died unrepentant without Christ is suffering torment right now as you read this. The Rich Man. Your beloved family members. Your best friends. Everyone. There are no second chances and there is no communication with them after death. The ‘beings’ called up by mediums and spiritists are simply demons posing as the dead loved one.

Do not be deceived. That is why Jesus warned us to be on the lookout for “false Christs and false prophets [who] will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. (Matthew 24:24) Satan and his demons ARE able to work wonders and signs even to the point of misleading God's true children. 

As the Holy Spirit gives yet another word, this time through St Paul:  

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. (2 Timothy 4:3-4)
