From the hands of Grace comes the touch of sin.
Watching Jesus’ Crucifixion from above
In a 21st century vehicle we are able to look to the past and see the present as it circumvents something that happened long ago, yet is occurring right now. Our choice by divine influence brings our beliefs of the Holy Mass into perspective.
The Roman soldiers placed Jesus on the wooden beam he carried to the Place of the Skull and laid him down upon this cross, nailing his hands and feet with vicious strokes. As our priest raises the bread for sacrifice it is Jesus himself who says “This is my body” as the nails sink deeply into his flesh.
The cross is raised and dropped into a hole made to hold the wooden structure. When the priest lifts the chalice filled with wine it becomes Jesus who cries out as he lifts himself; crying out; “It is finished” as he dies
At mass we watch and cringe as each step brings a reality to what we are witnessing when it is Jesus who raises the bread and wine as the elements become his Body and Blood through the Holy Spirit. It is a live performance of the Transubstantiation happening before our very eyes. As mentioned before in other articles, it is the Collapse of Time; when the priest lifts the elements it is Jesus who does the same, except as he is nailed to the cross Jesus lifts the bread in sacrifice. As Jesus hangs dying it is the chalice the priest lifts, that our Lord asked his Father to take from him, that is lifted simultaneously by the priest and Jesus as he dies.
It is a scene that is repeated at each mass and is the exact account that becomes Easter all over again. This is a phenomenon that non-catholics cannot copy or recreate since the theology of the Eucharist is too deep with meaning and is the reason they are not welcomed during holy mass because they have chosen not to accept catholicism in its very truth. This again, follows the catholic tradition which has been a direct adversity by non-catholics and a target by other religions to scathe our beliefs.
