The Birth of The Virgin Mary
Today, Sept. 8 the church celebrates
The birth of Jesus’ mother, Mary.
A feast day unknown to many.
A virginal birth like Christ’s birth?
Joachim and Anna think they were infertile?
Did Mary know her purpose in life?
Praying to God for a child is every married couple:
“Please God if this is your plan,
to further salvation of the world…”
New hope for the world;
another chance to escape
the nature caused by Adam and Eve.
Flowers in paintings show her
love, her purity, her virginity
her heavenly glory.
“ She is the flower of the field
from whom bloomed
the precious lily of the valley.”
Mary, the foreshadowing of Christ’s love:
the channel of grace for us all
by giving His very being on the cross.
