Be the one!

   Not many love Jesus.  Be the one that does!  Not many know or even care about God’s laws.  Be the one that does!  We may look around at the world today and say to ourselves that we love Jesus more than most and that we care about most of God’s laws better than others.  But we are not called to be better than those around us, we are called to be Christians.  We are called to be the best we can, regardless if we are already better than others or can never be the saint others appear to be.

   Jesus does not get a lot of love lately.  More and more stop going to Mass, thinking to themselves that it does not really matter.  Surely, the Devil does trick us into believing such lies at times.  Perhaps it is not about Mass, but fornication, abortion, or “same-sex” marriage.  But, like the Mass, sex, life, and marriage are holy endeavors.  If the Devil convinces us that they do not really matter, then fornication, abortion, and “same-sex” marriage make sense.

   You were put on this earth for one reason:  to go to Heaven.  Going to Heaven is a battle.  That is why the Church on earth is called the Church Militant, because we must battle to reach our destination where we will join the Church Triumphant.  The Devil is battling us because he despises us and how much God loves us.  He continually tries to do everything he can to keep us from Heaven.  And if you think that too many are allowing the Devil to win, be the one to say no and fight your way to Heaven.  In Heaven, the greatest battle scars are those of Jesus’ in His hands, His side, and His feet.  May we be strengthened for our battle, so that we might make it to the Promised Land.

   Jesus, help us to love You when others do not.  Help us to defend and obey God’s laws.  And strengthen us for the daily battle that the Devil and his demons wage on us every day.  May our victory be one with Yours so that we might be Yours for all eternity.  Amen.
