New Book Unlocks the Real, Untold Story of the Bethlehem Shepherds
Adam Blai. The Exorcism Files. Manchester, NH: Sophia Institute Press, 2022. Paperback. $18.95. 224 pages. Available from the publisher.
In this essential resource for our times, Adam Blai aims to educate people on the dangers of the occult and expose its lies. Blai wrote The Exorcism Files from his broad experience of over fifteen year working in deliverance ministry and training exorcists. Notably, he also has a Master’s in psychology and participated on an investigative panel for paranormal research. A renowned author, Blai also wrote The Catholic Guide to Miracles.
A priest reviewer of this latest offering, The Exorcism Files, shared: “Sadly, many instances of demonic intrusion originate in a person seeking healing, wholeness, belonging, enlightenment, or satisfaction. What Mr. Blai's book points out is the various ways by which so many people turn to the demonic (knowingly or not) to achieve these goals, rather than to God who ‘makes all things new’ (Rev 21:5). With so many ad campaigns, games, social media influencers, TV dramas, and now even children's shows normalizing (if not glorifying) the demonic, Mr. Blai's book should be a welcome addition to any spiritual library.”
Through real-life stories of possession and exorcism Blai provides readers with a firsthand glimpse of diabolical dangers. He explains the difference between possession and oppression, how evil manifests itself, and the safeguards each of the faithful should have in place. As Blai noted in a recent article, “God’s word, the Church, and centuries of experience seeing people fall victim to the occult leads to rejecting these practices [e.g. Tarot cards, etc.]. Each person has to make their own choices though and will be held accountable for them.”
Readers will be enthralled by amazing examples of deliverance and healing. One of my favorite stories was recently related by a blogger Mary O’Regan. It demonstrates the role of Our Blessed Mother—Lady-Warrior—in helping to free her children from the grip of evil, especially during exorcisms.
In these fascinating pages, Blai lays out a spiritual defense plan. A reviewer wrote: “The book was a very quick read. Each story held your attention. Adam Blai did a great job of writing from his heart. This book is for everyone... those who think there are no demons and those that know there are. Easily understood and reinforces to be very careful when dealing with situations outside your faith.... and most of all, pray.”
