A reality that judgment may be on the horizon
Have you ever seen the prophets that appear on street corners carrying a sign that fits over their shoulders with warnings on both sides about the end of the world? You may need to go to New York or other large cities to view one, but their message is one of so many avenues that are available; TV, the printed media, revivals although now a past method of the 20’s and beyond, or some church services that may want to indoctrinate their listeners about the second coming of Christ.
One fact is that Parousia is real and the world will be judged. Scripture is full of teaching on this subject and more than ever before the exponents should be talked about. It isn’t a message to frighten people but since it is so prevalent in the bible it should not be left alone as just something the early Christians were interested in hearing.
As written before by more than myself, the signs of the impending judgment are closer than even 50 or more years ago. The speed at which it is arriving will startle many who might say it is just a hoax. Like so many that resemble Ostriches with their heads in the sand, as Jesus said; “But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.” (Mt. 24: 36). “Behold, he is coming amid the clouds, and every eye will see him, and those who pierced him. All the peoples of the earth will lament him.Yes, Amen.” (Rv. 2: 7)
“Because the great day of their wrath has come and who can withstand it?” (Rv. 6: 17). “How mighty is that day-none like it! A day of distress for Jacob.” (Jer 30: 7).
“Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore, console one another with these words’” The words of Paul regarding the Rapture and a hope for those who have fallen asleep. (1 Thes 4: 17 - 18).
In Spite of the fear of the Tribulation to come Paul gives us hope that the New Jerusalem is being prepared to replace the old and existing Jerusalem.
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. I also saw the holy city, a new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, Behold, God’s dwelling is with the human race. He will dwell with them and they will be his people and God himself will always be with them. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, wailing of pain, for the old order has passed away.” (Rv 21: 1 - 4).
