Check Your Spiritual House
Every December, our channels are covered with “Christmas” shows from Hollywood feel-goods to (why?!) horror movies. The so-called Christmas culture has gone all wrong, putting a happy-go-lucky spin on charity and joy and drama where it just doesn’t belong. They’re completely missing the mark.
The message is to give people what makes them happy, but really it should be giving people what makes God happy, which is giving people what we need: Jesus!
Let’s start taking back Christmas by tuning into something better!
On December 12th at 8pm ET/7pm CT, Max Studios and the University of Saint Thomas in Houston will present a variety show on their YouTube channel, The Great Big Christmas Show. There’s so many secular shows throughout December that it’s high time we start flooding the proverbial airways with the true meaning of the season.
The hosts are Fr. David Michael Moses of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, Leah Darrow - founder of Power Made Perfect, and James Matthew Wilson - the Cullen Foundation Chair of English Literature and the Director of the MFA program in Creative Writing at the University of Saint Thomas Houston. This is set to be a fun Christmas program you may not want to miss. They’ll also have featured guests like Fr. Rob Galea, Jonathan “Bearded” Blevins, Deacon Philip Jackson, Stephanie Aquilla, and more.
You can check out the trailer to hear all Fr. Moses has to say of the event and mark your calendar to see this fun and festive show - the right kind of festive! Tell your friends and family! Let’s give them as many views as we can to drown out the nonsense and bring in this Christmas with the right kind of joyful programming!
