Original Sin
Adam and Eve, poor souls, disobeyed God.
Giving us, poor descendants, sin for all time:
Original sin inherited as a consequence.
Adam’s free will to choose for or against God’s order
Brought death for us, and removal from the garden to Adam.
Inheritances has major consequences.
Our wounded nature toward sin, not love for God,
Our weakness for human reward as, not godly acts,
Is a tainted gift we wish to return.
Whereas Adam made us sinners,
Christ redeemed, suffering and dying for us,
Giving us grace needed to return to heaven.
Perfection, harmony with God we lost;
God’s promise to crush the e vol one’s head, Christ did.
Now we attempt to restore our oneness with God.
Our free will damaged, but Christ gives us sacraments.
His death, His grace, His eternal love,
Give us strength to obey His will.
Reconciliation begun by Christ, daily repentance by us,
Faith and grace are the blessings Christ gives us;
We beg for His mercy.
