What would Jesus do faced with the coronavirus?
Naturally, we see that our father becomes our father through our mother. And what about supernaturally? God the Father brought His Fatherhood into our world through Mary. We becomes sons and daughters of Our Father “through Jesus Christ”. [Ephesians 1:5] So it only stands to reason that Mary is our Mother.
So, what does this mean? Well, it means that Mom is in Heaven and we can ask her to help us out. But… she is also the “Mother of God”, so she has great pull. Not only that, but as Mom she does not need to wait for us to ask her for help, she can take it upon herself to help us. Is there a good mother that does not?
We do not need to be concerned with honoring Mary too much. After all, it was God that chose to have her as His Mother and He chose that she would be our Mother as well. What Dad would punish his children from honoring and seeking assistance from their Mom? Indeed, it would please him, as it does Our Father. It was Dad who chose Mary to be our Mom. If we reject our Mom, are we not then rejecting Our Father?
Mom, you were given the office of Mother of God, with your awesome privilege and as our Mother, help us in all of our needs “now and at the hour of our death.” Amen.
