Announcing the Conception of Jesus
"Angle Baby was a 1960s hit song that starts wit the line "It's just like Heaven, being here with you. . ."
And, did you know, there is a Theology of Angels? And an Apologetic exists as well. They're easy to find online and truly the volume of articles about Angels is overwhelming. So, here's a digest you can use for now.
The source material is from Fr. John Hardon S.J. (1914-2000) in his article "Have angels taken flight from Catholic theology?" He begins his "Angelology" saying in his thesis that they are pure spirits, some are our guardians and others are demons.
Angels were created as pure spirits who sometimes can be made visible to humans. They are (the good angels at least) messengers from God.
Hardon's Theology dives deep into Scripture, both old and new, and cites many of the Church Fathers then delivering readers to the second Vatican Council, and beyond to the article ©1998 that can be found on the website HardonSJ.org.

One of the beautiful and consoling teachings of the Catholic Church is that God has given each one of us a guardian angel to lead us on the path to salvation. Beside each believer stands an Angel as protector and shepherd, leading him to life. Angels are pure spirits.May 5, 2020

So, putting this in personal terms, here's my own experience from just last night: I couldn't sleep at all last night, tossing and turning, I was restless in Ocala. Other than that I recall coming to a foggy state of arousal because I was being sorely tempted by an angel - that is, by a fallen angel. I'll call this creature of my half-awakeness "the Accuser."
Some time ago in a shamewful admission of guilt, about a serial sin that involved the teller's opposite gender. I considered the teller to be a very close friend and the secret revelation of sin bothered me a lot when I first heard the story.
Last night this scenario was rerunning in my nightmarish dream and I was being taunted to condemn my friend to eternal fire. BUT, another voice interrupted all that and the following prayer came to mind as I awakened.
+ Angel of God, my Guardian dear, whose love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to rule and lisht, to guard and guide. Amen. +
It has been a peace filled day ever since. But, just for safety sake I prayed this prayer next:
+ Peace. May the Holy Cross ever be my light, never darkness nor dragons be my guide. Begone Satan. Do not suggest to me your vanities. Evil are the things you proferrest. Dring thy own poison.+
Most of the Catholics and Protestants, who I know, do believe in Angels. What about you. And are you ready to tell others the true Heavenly Story.
I mean, Angels are awesome creatures.
