How A Jehovah's Witness Became a Mercedarian Priest
By Fr. Alexander Ezechukwu, OCD
Have you heard about the "culture of the temporary"?
It's a phrase that Pope Francis has used to indicate a trend of people failing to commit themselves to any definite path in life.
I don't mean to point the finger at anyone.
I understand it takes prayer and discernment to discover one's vocation and accept it -- whether to a life consecrated to God, or to life as a layperson in marriage or the single life.
But at some point, you must take a stand with yourself, and make that decision!
Speaking of Pope Francis, I'd like to share with you a summary of one of his talks that has been distilled into a handy checklist, by Pope Francis,
"5 Pitfalls to Avoid With Your Vocation"
Many men have read this short checklist and have got a lot out of it.
If you’re a single Catholic man age 18 to 35, have you thought about becoming a religious friar? Maybe God is calling you to a Carmelite vocation in our Anglo-Irish Province in the UK!
