What Fr. Mike Got Right About Abortion
Jesus reached his destination. The crowd continues to press on or see from a distance what is about to unfold. The soldiers and those in the continue to taunt him. Jesus is almost finished with fulfilling his mission. Soon something great is about to happen.
Tenth Station: Jesus is Stripped of His Garments
Reflection: Jesus reaches Mt. Calvary. The soldiers prepare to put him on the cross. The soldiers devalue him once more as they stripped off his garments. Today we give into gossip and impure activities that not only destroy our values but those who are afflicted by it. We need to set a positive example to others as he did in his three years of ministry.
Prayer: Jesus, create in me a clean heart and tongue. Help me say the words that will build up friends, enemies, and strangers. Help me to resist the tempting thoughts of gossip. Let me look to you to guide my speech as I work to build up every human person in a toxic culture. Amen
Eleventh Station: Jesus is Nailed to the Cross
Reflection: The soldiers take heavy nails and hammer them into your outstretched hands and feet. Everyone has gone mad. Those same hands outstretched were used to teach and heal and are now nailed to the wood. The pain is so excruciating.
We too have nailed hurtful things to others both directly and indirectly. At the same time, we abandon our call to live as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Prayer: Jesus, help me to offer loving things to others. Help me to see every person as a sibling in your name. Guide me to make amends to those that I have injured by my poor speech and lack of action. Remove the blinders as I feel remorse for hurting those around me. Amen
