Jesus Wept - I have too.
The Way of the Cross and Resurrection – a Lenten Reflection for Good Friday
During Lent, in a darkened church with Hildegard of Bingham chants playing softly in the background I read the booklet – The Way of the Cross and Resurrection. It is available free on line at:

People had been given paper and pencils and the questions were read over a microphone with a soft voice very slowly. VERY slowly. With pauses for individuals to consider their answers and maybe jot down a thought or two. LONG pauses.
One person walked the “way” along the walls of the church stopping in front of each image of all the Stations of the Cross. Plenty of time was given to be able to consider what Jesus did then, and what that means to us today in our lives.
Again, consider what he did for us and what we should do in return. How then should we behave?
And then comes - The Resurrection! As Christians we are Easter people. We know that what looks like death is not. Like the seed planted in the dark soil, new life will burst forth. Like the caterpillar after the cocooning and dissolution of the old body, a new one comes forth. In each case more vibrant and more beautiful than before.
Have I had times of transformation, remission or rebirth in my life? Am I cognizant of the blessing that it is? Do I wait in joyful hope? Help me to offer praise and thanksgiving in all things. Yes, all of them! Even those that don’t look that good.
Let us pray: Lord, thank you for blessing me with your amazing grace and love, and offering me access to deep wisdom and surprising inner strength. You present me with transformation and rebirth. Here I am Lord, welcoming, embracing and embodying your gifts.
Wonder and delight at the mystery and majesty fill me with abiding contentment, incredible joy and profound gratefulness. Amen.
