Where once there was nothing now has become grace
O Jesus my savior, how much I love Thee!
Words that can only come from the heart, deep within the persona of a lover. True love can never occur with anyone unless they feel the stirring of emotions that are without senses, without human touching, just being with the true shadow of agape love.
One will only know this love once they have gone through a period of emptiness and discover that the real fulfillment of this reality comes through the experience of Christ living within them. The words from Jesus to a saint was; “take care of my things and I will take care of yours.” It begins with allowing Jesus to take our wasteful endeavors and replace them with the essence of his I AM proclamation. When we understand those words first spoken to Moses on Mt. Sanai, the searching will no longer be a question looking for an answer. Because of the intense relationship between him and us, the direction we will go in is already the same for both.
“I’ll walk with God, he’ll hold my hand. I'll talk with God, he'll understand.” When we are concerned about tomorrow, reach out and feel the Spirit of Christ who dwells within us grabbing hold so as not to let go. It isn’t through the number of Masses we attend, or the rosaries we pray, that will make the difference to know Christ is with us. It becomes a divine intervention with our humanity that blends the very meaning of the Incarnation. There God took on humanity, sharing his divinity with us. We will share the divinity of Christ as we become open to the very presence within us.
If two people, husband and wife, spend many years together without that same type of love there will become a dryness that may never find nourishment as the united souls drift apart. That is what the marriage of Christ with his church may find when one is not looking into the very personhood of the other. Too often, the groom of our church is tirelessly seeking the affections of his bride, but all he is getting is a bland type of emotions where there is no response.
In a human marriage when one partner takes the other for granted it is likely to fall apart. We must not take Christ for granted by giving little or no response to the affectionate Lord who gave himself for each of us through the Love he gave by emptying out his blood on Calvary.
O how much I want to be one with you, my Jesus, my lover, my God who is so loving even when I fail in my part with you. Give to me the grace that will surpass my weakness, open my heart to your heart, and become one in that love that says I love Thee.
