Pandemic Prayers - Still Necessary?
Hyperinflation and More Signs of the End of the Age – Part 1
Submitted by Thomas Stidl
Did John the Evangelist write about Hyperinflation in the Book of Revelation? The answer is yes. It is in the third seal. The rider of the black horse held a scale in his hand. “A ration of wheat costs a day’s pay and three rations of barley costs a day’s pay. But do not damage the olive oil or the wine.”
I am sure that all of us who enter a supermarket have noticed the high prices for the past two plus years. The cost of produce has risen due to higher trucking costs. Diesel oil prices which truckers use have increased dramatically. The cost of fuel is still high though not as high as last year. That statement comes with a cost also. We have depleted our strategic oil reserves that the last administration replenished at ridiculously low costs. We had a glut of oil during the last administration and were energy independent. We were on our way to world energy dominance. That sure changed in two plus years. We now depend on foreign sources for our oil, which is more expensive.
Our military was rebuilt during the last administration to once again keep America safe and free. The current showed its weakness by the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan allowing the first horseman of the apocalypse to ride and conquer again reigniting the war in Ukraine. This is the release of the second horseman of the apocalypse. Look at all the lives that are lost due to this senseless tragedy. Saint Pope Paul VI in a speech to the United Nations in my youth cried out, “No More War”. Donald Trump recently said, “Stop the Killing”. Do our leaders listen to them? No!!
The Trump Administration rebuilt the military. With the war in Ukraine, we are depleting our military readiness by sending the military supplies overseas as foreign aid. Had we kept the “Peace Through Strength” initiative we would not be in this situation. Are we leaving ourselves open to a military attack also the new policies of woke ness? We are making ourselves vulnerable to foreign invasion especially on our southern border.
On August 31, 2022, I wrote an article for Catholic365.com entitled “Technology and Religion”. In that article, I tried to detail the advancements of technology from my childhood until now. I was trying to answer the following question. The end of the age, are we there yet? It now appears that we are getting closer and closer.
I have one statement of advice for all. Always keep the perfect act of contrition and the act of spiritual communion handy. The perfect act of contrition expresses our sorrow for our sins only because we love Him above all things. The act of Spiritual Communion unites us with the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus. It can also serve as food for the journey when we are near death without any priests in the area. These two prayers clear our way to paradise.
Until next time, Laus Tibi, Christe. Deo Gratias. Gloria Tibi Domini. Praise be to God. See you in Paradise.
