The Holy Spirit Feels Welcome Where He Finds Reflections of Mary, His Spouse
Kyrie Eleison, (Lord Have Mercy) Christe Eleison (Christ Have Mercy) The “Kyrie” sums up the goal of our lives; for Christ to have mercy upon us, forgive us for our sins, and bring us into everlasting life. The fabric of our lives hangs by the thread of the Kyrie, woven by the Divine Mercy of Jesus Christ, The Son of God.
Hanging my head down low, I close my eyes as I softly sing the Kyrie along with the choir, pleading Christ to have mercy upon me. The Kyrie washes over my soul, like the water from the side of Christ; cleansing me, and washing me clean in mercy that’s oh so divine.
The salvation of the world is wrapped up in the Kyrie Eleison. With every beat of man’s heart, “Lord Have Mercy on a poor sinner like me,” echos into the realm of eternity. One day we shall find ourselves before the judgment seat of The Lord, with nothing on our lips other than Kyrie Eleision, Christe Eleison.
May the moments that we pray the Kyrie during the Mass, reverberate into the timeless dwelling place of The Lord, and may He find it within His Sacred Heart, to have mercy upon us.
