Eucharist Keeps Hungry Hearts Full: Corpus Christi Reflection
In an Instagram post, a college student with same-sex attraction is offering the cross for a bigger purpose to build a bridge for those in the LGBT community to break away from the lifestyle and live the gospel with authenticity.
N THE PROCESS OF “RECLAIMING” JUNE AS THE MONTH OF THE SACRED HEART INSTEAD OF IT BEING PRIDE MONTH, WE AS FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST TEND TO BE THE MOST PRIDEFUL OF THEM ALL.
—
My fellow disciples, the irony is exhausting.
—
To effectively defend the Sacred Heart of Jesus, priority must foremost be placed on accurately representing His heart.
—
His heart does not belittle others.
His heart is not one that profits off of mocking those who disagree with Him.
His heart does not seek to upstage and debate.
—
Rather . . .
—
His heart thirsts for sinners and longs to bring them back to Him.
His heart is one of a gentle Shepherd who is moved with pity for any wandering sheep (Mt. 9:36).
—
The Sacred Heart of Jesus needs to be defended.
—
However . . .
Such a defense requires love, not hatred.
It requires encounter, not attack.
It requires an invitation, not condemnation.
—
From this place, the Sacred Heart will be defended.
From this love, the Sacred Heart will be honored.
From this disposition, the conversion of souls will occur.
In addition, he offers three ways to navigate the relativistic month of June known as "Pride Month".
Ask

Does the way I approach my LGBT+ brother or sister Christ's unfathomable love for them?
Will I be able to draw a non-christian or a fallen-away Catholic to the heart of Jesus through my actions, words, and example, both online and offline?
Am I attempting to dialogue with my LGBT+ neighbor or trying to "win" the debate?
Am I encountering my LGBT+ neighbor in their humanity or do I only see them as a pawn amidst moral debate?
Stand
Never tolerate misinterpretations of the heart of Jesus or church teachings on homosexuality
Pray
Intercede for healing, conversion, and peace between the LGBT+ community and the church
Love
Don't just preach but live the gospel. Bring it to those in the LGBT+ community. They need to learn about his love for them.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we entrust our LGBT+ brothers and sisters to You!
