The Rosary Is The Umbilical Cord
Upon receiving Christ, we become one with Him; thus becoming like Him. When Christ In The Flesh, is contained within us, we are surrounded by a myriad of angels, resembling Christ in Heaven surrounded by angels. Those who receive the Eucharist have access to the “higher levels” of prayer. It’s about having a proper disposition to perceive what is taking place upon receiving Holy Communion, and thus be able to properly receive the grace distributed from The Sacrament.
Receiving Christ In The Flesh should conform us to Him. We are the ones who block the effects of grace this great Sacrament has to offer for us. To ascend spiritually, which is essentially a journey inwards into the soul, to discover Christ dwelling within; you have to be purified and heal, or you remain in a state that cannot hold all of the grace available you. The “state of grace” that you find yourself in, is congruent to the level of prayer that you are in. Saint Teresa of Avila has famously outlined The Nine levels of prayer, the spiritual ascent into union, mystical marriage with God.
Once we realize that union with Christ is found within The Eucharist, and that The Eucharistic is referred to as The Sacrament of The Bridegroom and The Bride, the “high levels” of prayer do not seem to be unattainable to us, but rather highly available. The Eucharist is our access to achieving union with God. Does it make sense to consume God in the flesh and not be totally consumed by Him? Does it make sense for the power of The Resurrection to dwell within us and not completely change our lives? - It does not. Therefore we can see, how we are the ones who have blocked the effects of grace The Sacrament of The Eucharist has to offer for us.
Numerous holy people within The Catholic Church have miraculously lived without eating any food and drinking any water for years; only consuming The Eucharist. Venerable Marthe Robin is one of them. Paralyzed, and unable to eat or drink anything (doctors tried to force water down, but it would come out her nostrils) Marthe’s only source of sustenance for fifty years was The Eucharist. Scientifically unexplainable but Biblically sound, Marthe is living proof that The Eucharist in The Catholic Church, is truly the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
When asked about not being able to eat, Marthe responded :
"I want to cry out to those who ask me if I eat, that I eat more than them, for I am fed by the Eucharist of the blood and flesh of Jesus. I would like to tell them that it is they who arrest and block the effects of this food in themselves.”
As Christ has said, “Truly, truly I say unto you: Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, you have no life in you.” - John 6:53
Jesus is asking that we allow ourselves to be completely available to be consumed by Him, thus allowing Him to conform us into Himself. Give The Lord your “Fiat” to becoming one with Him today.
