Why Revivals Are Needed by All
Our Future; Should we be Concerned?
Upon graduation, either from an institution of learning or within an industrial organization, the next move most will make is how will my education or experience in the business world help me.? It is the one criterion that will use our expertise to determine the rest of our lives as a contributor to society and the ability to create a solid base for myself and family.
Every effort any of us produces to advance in the chosen arena of life must be taken seriously or risk failure in the process. All of this makes for sound principles in any environment in order to be a contributor to society, the business world, or our own personal satisfaction of success.
Using the same principles within each person's spiritual designation will bring the current opinion of where we as the human race are confronted with. How easy it is to attend church and listen to a homily that may or may not move any of us to change or look at ourselves in a spiritual direction. Where are we as Christians headed in the 21st century with the threat of war hanging over us? Or how can I, one person sitting in this pew, make a difference since I am only one in a world of millions of other people, and just as many opinions and knowledgeable decisions?
It has become a game of viewing the world scene of decisions by too many nations bent on controlling the rest of the world, or at least injecting their philosophies, many with the thoughts of Carl Marx. Here is where we should take a serious look at the predictions from the bible regarding the last days of this planet and those who continue to scoff at what lies ahead.
What may or may not be preached from the pulpit should be a wake-up call to our future. The philosophy Carl Marx produced affected the ruling ideals of society that led to a future communistic society in the 1800’s and is taking root today in our own society. However the crux of all this will bring to a conclusion what has been written in the bible.
The book of Daniel, a very apocalyptic literature, brings to fruition the very prophecies found in Revelation, and the future of what may be on the horizon for the current population of the earth. The northern nations were always a fierce threat to Israel, and are now presenting the same threat. There are too many adversaries combining together to swoop down on the city God calls his own, over all earthly nations. We have, Hezbollah, immediately to the north of Israel, and Iran, China, and other nations in concert to make the final attack on the Jews. Interestingly the very scenario is predicted in the bible and the future, not too far into the future will become a reality. How does that affect us? Certainly not to live in fear since the realism may be long after most of us are gone. But, in the realm of things to come, some of us may be around. And remember, on the downside, our children and grand-children will inherit devastation no one should want.
Matthew’s Gospel is clear in chapter 24. “See that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, saying, “I am the Messiah” and they will deceive many. “You will hear of wars and reports of wars; see that you are not alarmed, for these things must happen, but it will not yet be the end. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be famines and earthquakes from place to place. All these are the beginning of the labor pains. Then they will hand you over to persecution, and they will kill you.” (Mt 24: 5 - 9.
“When you see the desolating abomination spoken of through Daniel the prophet standing in the holy place then those in Judea must flee to the mountains.” (Mt 24: 15).
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of heaven will be shaken. And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming upon the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.” (Mt 24: 29 -31).
“But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father alone.” (Mt 24: 36).
We are all viewing the very world in a future that is on the horizon within a stone's throw across the vastness of space. That space is our present adherence to what evil has created and we are the recipients of the final quest that Christ will make new again.
