Pray Seven Times a day
The mystery of life has relevance for people when discussing anything about birth, life, and/or death.
The truth of The Word guides us on issues like how and when we were made (see the book of Genesis), the birth process (see the Gospel Nativity narratives, and what happens after we leave this world (see the book of Revelations). My takeaway is that we were created before the earth, conceived by our parents to begin our earthly sojourn, and passed to eternity after our death. In sum, we are all eternals.
It seems to me that the ideas of birth prevention, and euthenasia are violations of our Creator’s Holy Will. And, when we violate His Holy Will intentionally, we are committing a Mortal Sin (See the Commandments and Matthew 5, for examples of what sin actually does to us.) Just a quick word from a sinner, me: I have come to realize that whatever passion is satisfied by sin is a pleasure that is realized for a very short amount of time, yet brings grief for a very long time!
All of our Dominican and Franciscan Theology treat sin with abhorrence. And that makes good sense. In daily life, as we know it, just about everybody abhors sin against themselves in particular — whether they believe in God or not. Don’t believe that? Go kick a stranger in the shin and watch what happens.
To be sure: the mystery of life remains a mystery. Why God created us, only God knows. But we do know that we are here for a Holy purpose (if we believe The Word, and the Word does not lie) which is to know, love, and serve God. We also know that the Scriptures explain everything very well. We know that the Church, especially the Catholic Church Mission is to proclaim The Word in language that we can understand. And, we know the Church is an assembly of sinful people trying to help and encourage and love one and other. So it is right that we ask God for Mercy, Jesus to possess us, and the Holy Ghost to dwell in us. It is right to ask our Heavenly Mother Mary for refuge, Saint Joseph for protection. St. Michael for defence, our Guardiian Angel for Guidance. It is equally right to ask all the Angels and Saints to pray for us. Why is it right?
It is “right” because we are All One in the same Family.
