As we begin enumerating prayers let us remember the reasons for them!
If the question was asked how much I know about someone could my response be positive?
This is a test to find how many people actually can answer in the affirmative that they understand the ins and outs regarding the person they live with, or those they spend many hours working or playing with.
With the sometimes elusive attitude Christians appear to just gloss over the depth of God in their lives we could fill volumes of written data that go nowhere. Many saints have spent hours upon hours discerning who and what God is, many to no avail. From the early years, for most Catholics, the Baltimore Catechism was the only written manual teaching us in some limited fashion the answer to that.
Read the Confessions of Augustine and see for yourselves a life-long search regarding God and his mysterious entity. From the forward of this book he says; “You have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.”
But, if we really are concerned about the depth of God’s essence, his reality and personality in human terms, there must be a more pronounced search that may lead nowhere unless the eagerness to know God is at the center of our quest.
Bringing this mind-boggling manner to understand the who and what about God takes more than just human intellect to open the closed secrets of God. It will begin by finding the very existence of his close ally, Wisdom. It is here that secrets and their invisible make-up regarding The Holy Trinity, which is the very essence of who God is, will start to unfold before us. However, remember that the Truth of God’s Plan will not be revealed completely on this side of eternity. So no matter how much effort we place on opening the depth of those mysteries, we will in some respects remain at a blank.
Wisdom, the person, in human terms, was with God in the creation of the universe. Keep in mind wisdom is not part of the Trinity, but is a complete action of the existence of God. Wherever God has been and is now, Wisdom is the beginning and ending of total divinity of an ever-lasting God. Wherever we find any of the persons of the Trinity, Wisdom is there, with the understanding and Omnipotence of Almighty God. Without that personality so without God we do not have that divine essence.
The Praise of Wisdom by Solomon: “Now what Wisdom is, and how she came to be, I shall relate; and I shall hide no secrets from you. But from the very beginning I shall search out and bring to light knowledge of her, nor shall I diverge from the truth. Neither shall I admit consuming jealousy to my company, because that can have no fellowship with Wisdom.” (Wis 6: 22 - 23).
From Proverbs: “Does not Wisdom call, and Understanding raise her voice? Receive my instruction in preference to silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold . For Wisdom is better than corals, and no possession can compare with her. When he established the heavens I was there, when he marked out the vault over the face of the deep; When he made firm the skies above, when he fixed fast the foundations of the earth; When he set forth for the sea its limit, so that the waters should not transgress his command; Then was I bedside him as as his craftsman, and I was his delight day by day, playing on the surface of his earth; and I found delight in the sons of men.” (Prv 8: 1, 10 - 11, 27 - 31).
Are you understanding the question of knowing God rather than just knowing about him? Wisdom becomes the very depth of who and what God is! Herein is Wisdom itself.
