Throughout her life, Laura faced many challenges, including opposition from both the government and the Church. She was often criticized for her unconventional approach to missionary work, which included learning and respecting the indigenous languages and cultures of the people she served. However, she persevered in her mission and continued to work tirelessly until her death.
