Reaching for the light that eludes us
The Impact of the Pulpit and the Role of Ordained ministers’ Preaching
When we were ordained to the diaconate and priesthood it wasn’t so much our obligation to the gospel and the bishop of the local diocese. But it is within these attributes of Holy Orders the role is to speak for Christ and evangelize his Church to all we may meet. Herein is the one challenge all of us, ordained or laypeople, that is confronting the church in these days of moral corruption.
Recently the news media, at least Fox News, is presenting the public with the evil that is in our schools in many areas that is changing the attitudes of our small children, ages 4 and above, regarding pornagraphic books and other materials in the school libraries. Of course, all this is part of the Carl Marx philosophy that will bring the very nation we may fight for to a grinding halt.
I mentioned just recently in an article where on a particular Sunday homily I spoke about Catholic religious members supporting pro-choice groups their right to speak their minds. I was almost censored by two pastors for rocking the boat. My point is this is exactly what those of us who preach must be willing to speak out against the inconsistencies of the truth where an evil influence has crept into our institutions via the Woke generation.
The first noted teaching on the truth of the bible was in Nazareth when Jesus spoke in the synagogue as to his answering the need of the poor. From the prophet Isaiah he stood as the Messiah which first of all infuriated the Scribes and Pharisees, and placed a burden upon them because they had very little concern for this class of citizens. He never shrank from this role as a portrayer of the truth in every action he was involved with. (Lk 4: 16 - 19).
This article will be published in July, but is being written June 16, 2023. The reason is currently the promotion to interject the thoughts of sex in children itself should be from their parents, not teachers. But the worst scenario is the material that is being forced down their throats as truth. The material has become something out of the depths of hell and is supported by many government officials who we voted for. This is a very lively part of the Woke and far-left adversaries to corrupt morality and continue to remove the Catholic Church via signs of degradation. Just this evening the Los Angeles Dodgers have a group of men dressed as drag-nuns denouncing the Catholic Church and parading in the stadium. Why the Catholic Church? Because if they can humiliate our Church, this is one of many obstructions to make us an enemy and establish a pattern of disbelief. This is just the beginning of more atrocities to put down our 2,000 year faith that began in Jerusalem when Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead.
Here is the prime assertion of my article; The one crucial mandate that our preaching must include is about the evil that is on the doorsteps to the Church and its followers. I have rejected the temptation to write lightly regarding this evil confronting our Church and the children who are being led by wolves instead of the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ.
This is not one of those political instances where playing it safe and speaking without rocking the boat becomes the status quo. Throughout the scriptures God sent prophets to preach to the Israelites to stand up against the evils of the day. He is sending his ordained ministers to do the same right now. Remember, when we, the ordained of the church, stand before Christ the responsibility we must make an accounting for will be judged more severely than the sheep we were sent to lead.
Many are the paths we must choose to remove the embellishment of the evils that confront us, and speaking to the wolves that are confronting our listeners must be dealt with. Washington DC and the president and his chosen associates are allowing this corruption to lead us directly into the arms of Carl Marx and his philosophy to remove all of our freedoms and sell us out to the nations that will be the catalysts of a war none of us wants.
As preachers, writers, and teachers, our prime message must be to confront the adversaries of the Church and bring moral teaching back to the ears of the flock. I speak to the priests and deacons who preach regarding the rights being taken away from the flock. Speak out now!
