An Act of Kindness
In January, 2013, I prayed a novena to St. Therese, The Little Flower, for a special intention. As an answer to my prayers, I asked for a sign: white for yes, soon, red for no and pink, for yes but not now.
When I finished the novena, I waited eagerly for the answer. At that time, my husband and I were living in Hanceville, Alabama, near Mother Angelica's Shrine. In February, around Valentine's Day, Deacon Bill Steltemeier was dying, and we decided to visit him. We spoke with his wife before seeing him. I glanced at the TV and there was a huge, white flower leaning against it. I thought it was odd but didn't say anything.
After visiting Deacon Bill, I passed a beautiful statue of St. Therese, who was holding white roses. My heart was racing. St. Therese answered my prayers, and it happened four months later.
For what did I pray? I desired to be in my home town, Mountain Home, in Arkansas. We moved to Alabama when we were married, and I was missing my family, especially since we had two little girls at the time. On June 30th, we moved to Arkansas, and we have been living here for two years.
I am grateful to St. Therese. She is a special saint and one of my favorites. I shared this story to show that miracles happen, and that she continues to send roses from heaven just like she promised: "I will spend my heaven doing good on earth."
So, remember St. Therese when you are looking for a saint to intercede for you before the Throne of God. She responds quickly.
