Some whispers and rumors are circulating that more restrictions are coming. Here we go again. It seems that a shadow government without being voted by us the people has no say in our own decisions. Rather, we have allowed unelected bureaucrats to tell us what to do. Did we not learn the lessons of 2020?
That year has placed before us a rude awakening on what can happen when we abandon our God-given freedoms for security. To quote the late Ronald Reagan, “Freedom is a fragile thing and it's never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by way of inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. And those in world history who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again.”
We as Catholics must never abandon freedom. The moment we do our children and grandchildren will never know it. Many countries are reaping the consequences of taking away their citizen’s rights. Look at what happened in many states run by progressives like Tom Wolf, Andrew Cuomo, Gavin Newsom, the list goes on. They have used the 2020 plandemic to impose tyranny while running the lives of their constituents. Our children have suffered the most when they fell behind in school while Catholic schools had to work day in and day out to prepare for a moment like no other. Many were exhausted after one year and many had to leave education.
Some Catholic schools could not give the students a mask option if they got the two doses. Even a Catholic school mom voiced her concern over why the private schools haven’t challenged the narrative.
Why does everyone have to be punished with a handful of people get sick? Why must weak leaders make the lives of their citizens fearful? Even a majority of scientists have spoken out about the harms of constant mask-wearing and how recklessly dangerous the Covid boosters were.
To our elected officials, let us live free or die enslaved by your selfish ambitions. We are not meant to live in fear, we are meant to live by faith.
Freedom over Tyranny
