The Mystery of Tithing-Part 2
The Fifth Commandment – Part 1
Submitted by Thomas Stidl
What is the Fifth Commandment? Thou shall not kill. Those four words are self explanatory, yet in modern day America and the world we have found ways to break this commandment especially at the beginning of life in record numbers. The sin that I am referring to all of you is called abortion.
We read and see films of the horror of Partial Birth Abortion where the child is breach birthed (feet first). At a certain point in the birth procedure a needle is stuck in the back of the child’s head either to suck the brain material out of the body or a solution injected to kill the brain. We also read of dismemberment abortions where the instruments of death are inserted into the uterus. The doctor then cuts the baby into pieces and then vacuums the remains of the child out of the mother. Think of all the pain that you are causing that poor innocent child.
These are the common forms of abortion. We can thank almighty God that the United States Supreme Court removed Roe V. Wade as the law of our land. The judges that put that law on the books are murderers and are liable to the extreme judgment of God. If they did not realize by the end of their life that abortion was wrong, and did not repent, they will never share in the paradise banquet of heaven. Also, those politicians who encourage and support abortion are also just as guilty as the for-mentioned judges.
But are these the only two forms of abortion that exist today? No!!! The morning after pill prescribed by doctors and pharmacists is another form of abortion. Some people may say it is more humane that way. In actuality, it is just as much a mortal sin as the other two forms of abortion described above.
All human life begins at conception when the male sperm fertilizes the female egg. The soul enters that human being at that time. Rapid cell division begins to occur immediately including the splitting of cells that will form all the systems of the human body needed to sustain life.
As of late, we hear of heartbeat laws to curtail abortions where a fetal heart beat is detected. This is only the beginning, but it is still not enough. All human life must be protected from conception onward.
So that we are all clear on this subject, the child’s life is always primary and the mother’s life is secondary during childbirth. This is the traditional Catholic thinking as portrayed in the 1960’s film, “The Cardinal” with actor Tom Tryon. Remember what Jesus said that Greater love has no one than to lay down their lives for someone they love. If some unfortunate problem during childbirth occurred killing the mother that child will have a Mom watching over that child as a Saint in heaven.
Until next time, Laus Tibi, Christe. Deo Gratias. Gloria Tibi Domini. Praise be to God. See you in Paradise.
