Should You be Denied Communion?
“As he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and without blemish before him. He destined us for adoption to himself through Jesus Christ, in accord with the favor of his will, for the praise of the glory of his grace that he granted us in the beloved” – Ephesians 1:4-6
It’s an indescribable feeling to know someone wanted you and someone sought for you. To know someone intentionally searched for you is special and places value on your life, perhaps when you do not even feel your life has any worth. The value of your life increases infinitely because you were chosen and sought out by the creator of the universe.
He placed eternal value and worth on you. He created you with the purpose of being holy and he adopted you as a child of the Eternal Father. You, just like any adopted child in this world, have been chosen and wanted. Sometimes the world causes us to question our value and our worth. Circumstances in life can cause us to feel as if we are failures, not good enough for others, and have no purpose. These feelings are contradictory to what God tells us. They are lies from the pits of hell. Claim your destiny and be holy before the Lord. Stand on the foundation God has laid before you, believe, and live as if you were chosen by the Lord. You were, indeed, selected and sought. You are a child of God. Lift up your head and walk with grace, confidence, and joy.
