The different prayers of St. Joseph
In 2006, Chris Daughtry was a contestant on the live show “American Idol”. He made his way to the top 12, yet he never won the contest. He wound up coming in fourth place in the contest.
Despite falling short of winning the fifth season, he did release albums and found some success on the charts with hits like “It’s Not Over”, “Home” “No Surprise”, and “September” through the last name’s sake of his band.
Recently, Daughtry released a new single titled, “Artificial” and it has so much meaning.
In an interview, Daughtry said, “People are literally writing lyrics with this thing. We started seeing how rudimentary these lyrics were, like, I've heard this before, there's nothing original here. Yeah, it's writing you a song, but there's no artistic soul behind it."
He has a point. Today’s music lacks originality. AI is destroying creativity. For Daughtry, he is challenging many of us to use our creativity.
When learning about this new song by the finalist, it was amazing to see that someone in the industry speaking up and taking a stand against the movement towards artificial intelligence.
This can be a wake-up call for everyone to remember that God has given us gifts that must be used for his glory. For songwriters, we must use the talent of music songwriting for his kingdom.
“You are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, people who belong to God. You were chosen to tell about the excellent qualities of God, who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9
