Forgiveness Is A Decision
“Seventy times seven,” says the Lord.
Math is hard; yet how much harder is forgiveness.
To forgive the words of hatred, of acts too?
Now Lord, you are really asking too much.

My mind says “no”; my heart is so divided,
You say forgive and the decision is mine to do.
Ugh! What shall I do?
I am between a rock and a hard place.

I take out my rosary for help and guidance.
Prayer, repeated prayer, I pray.
Walking along my path I go;
Until the one ahead, the one I pray about, is seen.

“Hello”, I say, in tones quite low.
Maybe we will just pass by quietly.
Suddenly my decision is made; I react.
“Let’s talk.”
