Promoting the Sanctity of Life and the Sanctity of Marriage/Family/Human Sexuality (5/18/23 update)
Much of the world calls Israel's biblical heartland the West Bank, although it is known in Israel as Judea and Samaria. A key highway through this part of the country is the subject of a new film that examines the rich biblical heritage of this road, also known as "The Way of the Patriarchs"....Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo trace this highway that bisects the land of Israel. The 146-mile road connects modern and ancient Israel from Nazareth, where Jesus grew up to BeerSheva, where Abraham lived and now is home to one of Israel’s high-tech centers (CBN News, 9/15/23)
Ancient Shechem, stop number two on the road, in the region of Samaria, is the site of Joshua's altar. Friedman tells the story of Joshua and how he led the Israelites into the Promised Land after the Exodus from Egypt. Joseph's tomb resides here as does Jacob's well where Jesus met the Samaritan woman.Stop number five takes Friedman and Pompeo to Jerusalem, 91 miles south of Nazareth, where there are so many sacred places.... [including] the Western Wall...and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher....As Pompeo and Friedman make their way south of Jerusalem, they stop in Bethlehem where Pompeo reflects on the poverty of Jesus' entrance into the world. Just outside of Bethlehem is Rachel's Tomb. Considered a matriarch of Israel, Rachel was the wife of Jacob and mother of Joseph and Benjamin (Pauline Center for Media Studies, 9/17/23)
Before the long delayed release of "Sound of Freedom," this crucial film attracted controversy, taking eyes off the hellish crime of the trafficking of children. Why?
(With Congressman Smith in Trenton Recognizing the 1st Anniversary of the Dobbs decision.)
Over the years, I have wondered if some failed to treat human trafficking with proper seriousness because of their prejudice toward U.S. Congressman Chris Smith's long time pro life advocacy....was [that] the ultimate cause that Sound of Freedom did not make it to the screen till 2023? (Catholic365, 7/10/23)
I will bring this to a close with an obvious point. If we want to see quality films (& TV), we need to demonstrate that there is a hungry market!
