Reaching for the light that eludes us
Setting a plan to overtake an adversary
When one decides to expand their territory or control a group of enemies he must look at the obstacles that may deter his assault. In scripture the Israelites were warned to first look at their enemies stronghold and consider if this battle will be worth the effort.
So when planning the future attack on an enemy the leader along with his band of advisors will gather together and carefully make note of the enemy’s strengths and weaknesses. If possible, they will use subtle approaches to infiltrate their trust and learn both the strengths and weaknesses. It is through the strengths the enemy possesses that a careful plot will be needed to overcome them.
However, the weakness they hold onto will be the key to gain their trust and without their knowledge become one of them through the power of seduction. It is here that a man easily becomes vulnerable and succumbs to the evil that is about to overtake his senses.
Perhaps we shall see how the Trojan Horse was used as an offering by the Greeks to enter the City of Troy and win the war against them. Nowhere in history has such a ploy been used to overtake an enemy through a subtle manner when the people of Troy were too relaxed in their weakness of the flesh to see what was coming upon them.
This leads us to the modern style of infiltration by an enemy that is wearing the clothes of a friend or the leaders of a nation that says one thing that we’ll believe, and then the words of faith fall away as a lie to the waiting people like Troy; in their lust for pleasure without a rampart before us. Taking an old cliche that Hitler used; Tell the people something long enough and they’ll believe it.
Satan, the father of lies, has also found a way to have the people of God look to the treasures of life and when we get tired of waiting (like the Hebrew nation waiting at the Mountain of Horeb and grew restless waiting for Moses) will become so weakened by impatience they too will fall to the attraction of pleasure and fail to see the Trojan Horse about to enter their faith and corrupt them.
This scenario is on the horizon within the very near future and the Trojan Horse of our current reality is slowly stopping at the doors of our church, the entrance to the White House, and into the halls of Congress. The soldiers riding inside the false gift are not from God; they are the fighters with the corruption of evil that many of us will not recognize as the devil himself. We are about to become fodder for an entity that will absorb our faith and the strengths we once had will become the food for our weaknesses from which many will falter.
Without faith in God, and trust in his presence in the Church, which is all of us who believe, and the strength of Joshua marching around the city of Jericho, which is Washington DC, we shall also fall. As St Paul said; “our fight is with the powers and principalities not flesh and blood.”
