How often must we encounter the total disbelief in God?
A depth of Trust we may always find with God’s Grace
When any of us seeks to find God during the trauma of fear we find that the path may be covered with pseudo pleasures. Then how can we get past these attractions that plague the human ability to discover the presence of God but fail as quickly as they appear?
The word trust is a play on the belief that someone or something beyond our comprehension can become the very manner to reach past the blocks of distrust and failure. However, for those of us who have lost the formula to find God’s intervention in our lives the ultimate result may be disastrous. Here is where blind faith must be the answer to all of our problems and reach that unknown attribute of trust in God and let go of our cynicism.
As I wrote in a past article when a daughter-in-law was suffering in a NJ hospital, the vision of her lying on a bed with a man in white facing her (who must have been Christ) touched her stomach and a liquid flowed out of her. The words were so succinct when I heard “Fear is useless, what is needed is trust.” On returning to Pittsburgh the diagnosis proved to be healed.
This has become a mantra for me and I always extend that same narrative to others having a disillusionment towards their faith. At least with a positive approach to the unknown it can become the one tentacle of faith we can hold onto.
From Proverbs; “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, on your own intelligence rely not; In all your ways be mindful of him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Prv 3: 5 - 6).
There may be some, as in all philosophies, who close their eyes to biblical extracts and suggest using modern thoughts to discern the need of current problems and not always diagnosed guesses. However, we have become too dependent on man’s ability to have an answer to all mysteries and neglect God’s omnipotence in his creation.
It has become time to step aside for a moment and let the grace of God enter into our dependence on the Creator of our universe and all the attributes found through him. Philosophy in a world of so many unknowns has its place, but never to sidestep God and his plan for man and how He must always be first. Here, we will find the answers to everything depending on him.
