Don't be an enabler....
Devotion is usually defined as a form of prayer or worship for special use. It is essential in a relationship. Whether it be in a marriage or a friendship but especially in the worship of God.
We worship God or should worship God because he is our Creator and all knowing and all loving. We have devotion to Him because we cannot have a love of money, possessions or beliefs that are contrary to his laws. We must choose. Him who is all knowing, giving us free will, is so smart. Because it weeds out the true and the false.
This world can be quite enticing with it's ideas of happiness and fame. But like He says in the end, we take none of that with us when we die. The happiness of this world is always portrayed with money being it's main source. Money is essential to pay our bills and to buy food to eat, but it cannot equal the wealth we will receive in Heaven where no money or food is needed. Fame, as all of the Hollywood actors portray means nothing when we come face to face with God at our judgment.
Devotion is a meditative state of knowing that His beliefs are our beliefs and we will submit ourselves to his rulings. He (God) is our King, The Creator. Our devotion to Him, makes Him very happy and then so willing to allow us to fall and get back up. Thinking in terms of this world that man has succeeded into changing can bring us hopelessness, fear and despair. God is none of these. He is ALL Hope, ALL courage and ALL happiness. The amount of Love and Devotion that God put in to create us is so great we could not begin to ever even fathom it.
I resolved daily to devote my life, my mind, my soul with all of its flaws and failures, to keep picking myself up again and again in appreciation and love for the "Devotion that He has shown me and promises to show me until the end of time.
