Death, Racism, and Immorality Displayed During Democratic National Convention
In 2022, Fr. Mike Schmitz was a well known name. He was making headlines with the Bible in a Year podcast as it was No.1 on top downloads.
He even was one of the speakers during the 48th annual March for Life. The last one prior to the landmark Dobbs Decision that struck down Roe v Wade and sent the issue back to the states.
Now, he has another podcast that covers the Catechism of the Catholic Church. In its 295th day, he has tackled the issue of abortion as it falls under the 5th commandment “Thou shall not murder”.
Fr. Mike acknowledged that all human life deserves protection particularly the unborn child.
He even mentioned in his prayer the day before that abortion is the story of many who would listen to this deep hot-button topic. It has transformed our culture. 63 millions lives for half a century.
The issue has “marked the lives of many in our church.”
The good news is that God desires that all of his children can seek his mercy as we are encouraged to “turn to him and be saved”.
One thing that stood out to me in the introduction of the podcast episode is that Fr. Mike reaffirms that the church holds the line on not just God’s mercy and forgiveness but also the truth and goodness of its teachings.
The reality is that the church has long defended the lives of the unborn. It doubled down on those who commit this violent act through Canon Law 915 and excommunication.
Abortion has changed our culture. It taught us that an unborn child Is not welcomed in our society due to one’s selfish ambitions. It leaves women with a wounded heart that will scar them for the rest of their lives. The unborn child is discarded along with future descendants that were to come.
The good news is the wound of abortion can heal you. All you need to do is seek God’s mercy by going to confession. Yes, everyone can heal when actively seek him from God and not from the culture.
