Elections Have Consequences... Church Militant Must Take Stand in 2024 Elections
When in Philadelphia, there is a popular yet busy place in the heart of the city. For 130 years, the market has been the place to be for food and shopping.
On a recent day off from school, I had an opportunity to take my girlfriend to the popular attraction to eat and explore the amazing findings of the place.
We both walked into a vendor selling vinegar, balsamic, and olive oil with a myriad of flavors. Soon enough, we struck up some small talk with a middle-aged woman who was selling the products to make a profit.
Lady: Where are you from?
Me: We’re both from Philadelphia area.
Lady: Off from work?
Me: Yes. We’re both teachers.
Lady: Public school?
Me: Actually, we are both Catholic high school teachers.
What would soon follow was something that pierced the heart of mine and my girlfriend.
Lady: I used to be Catholic.
My girlfriend and I talked about our experience and knew that this lady needed prayers. Like her, many Catholics have fallen away. I know in my heart that she needs prayer, and I will ask God to guide her home. There is no such thing as a former Catholic. It is neither you are Catholic or not one at all.
We even agreed to give her something to remind her about the faith she’s raised in.
This is why our faithful witness is needed now. We must go and preach a gospel that is true and authentic, not some prosperity gospel from a megachurch pastor (stares down Joel Osteen).
Take the first step to help someone return to the faith now. You may just save their soul from damnation.
