Bad Radtrad arguments
So, if you don’t know this, I have a temper. I like to think I’m right about everything, and tend to get angry if someone tries to prove me wrong. I don’t know how to walk away from a challenge. Now, we have all heard the phrase “wolves in sheep’s clothing”, from Matthew 10:16, but let’s give the whole verse, this will be from the Douay Rheims version, “Behold I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be ye therefore wise as serpents and simple as doves”. How many of us are “wise as serpents” or “simple as doves”? I’m not sure how wise I could be considered, or simple (in this context) I could be considered. How many of you worry more about Church politics than saving souls? when someone asks you about the gospel, do you explain your liturgical preference, or how Jesus saves us from our sins? There’s a very good reason I stay away from Church politics. 1) It’s not my area of expertise, and, 2) Out of the hierarchy of truths, it’s not the most important thing. There are people who do talk about Church news, and they are needed. But, as I said before, we need to remember the GOOD NEWS. Why aren’t we doing what Jesus told us? Why aren’t we building up his kingdom? Where is the wisdom in clickbait? Where are we being simple (some translations say “harmless”) as doves? Look, I’ve fallen for a lot of this stuff, too. I’ve believed stuff that may have been actual propaganda. I have no way of knowing if it was, or that I was lied to. I do know this, on Judgement Day, Jesus isn’t going to ask me what liturgy I prefer, or ask why I never gossiped about the Pope. And this is something we all need to remember, because that’s not the most important thing. Don't be the very wolves in sheep's clothing you were warned against. As St. Paul tells us. “ And now there remain faith, hope, and charity, these three: but the greatest of these is charity”. (1 Corinthians 13:13)
