This Love Is Golden
We all are headed in one of two directions. To the Resurrection, or eternal death. The whole of your life either reflects God and is headed towards total healing and wholeness or it reflects satan and is heading towards maximum distress and destruction. To optimize wellness, one must be on the path of righteousness, to heal the whole person. Mind, body, and soul.
All functions of our being must be in harmony with eachother. Death is the separation of the soul from the body. Those not living according to the spirit, are living according to the flesh; thus living in a state of premature spiritual death. The end goal is to have your spirit and flesh be in harmony and reflect one another. Hence the glory of the resurrected bodies after the final coming of Christ. As one does not get to live a life contrary to God, and then receive eternal glory, one cannot live apart from the path of total healing which is The Resurrection, and be truly well. To truly be well, one must accept the gift of the healing offered by Jesus Christ.
“One man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had been ill for a long time, He said to him, ‘Do you want to be well?’” - John 5:5-6
Ponder on how Jesus asks the man if he wants to be well. The common thought would be to think, “Of course, he wants to be well! Who wants to be sick?” In actuality, it is much deeper than that. Many people may want to be well, but dwell in a state that makes them unwell and continue to linger in that unwell state. This prompts The Lord to ask, “Do you want to be well? Do you truly want to be well?” If one truly wanted to be well, would they continue to engage in sin? Would they continue to sulk in despair? Why allow yourself to be sick in the soul when the gift of healing is offered to you? For many, the familiarity of unwellness seems less scary than new-found wholeness. Healing is a process that invokes pain, and people have trouble sitting with their pain, sickness, and suffering.
However, it is of utmost importance to allow Christ to heal us. You must heal, so you can hear the truth without your wounds preventing your ability to understand the truth. The truth seems offensive if you are not healed, which is why it is of supreme importance to seek healing, so you can properly understand The Word of The Lord. We must speak the truth, even if it offends people. As they heal, they will understand and thus convert.
God did not create us to continue living lives intertwined with the fall. Christ came into the world to redeem it and set it free. Healing is available to us all, we simply have to accept it and direct our free will to The Lord, which thus allows Him to heal us. The Lord is respectful and does not force healing on one who does not truly want it. Jesus asks each of us the same question He asks the man at the pool of Bethesda, “Do you want to be well?” - John 5:-6
