Vacillating Our Trust In God
Faith Is An Action Word

In contemplating how steadily we are becoming closer to God, we may wonder what we can do to become closer in our relationship with God. The first question that may be reasonable to ask of ourselves is; “ What are we doing now to show God that we desire to attain a closer relationship with Him?” You may want to consider the person you are closest with here on earth, such as a parent, a spouse, or a best friend, and consider how often you visit, call, or spend time together. That might be a good place to start to compare who is given more of your time daily. Is it your parent, spouse, or best friend, or is it God? You are on the right path if you answer that God is getting more of your time. If not, it would appear that you need to spend more time with God either in prayer, in meditation, supporting one of his faith missions, or just talking to Him.
Making changes is often difficult for many people who are already so busy. Making time for God in a busy world is a sure way to show your love for Him, and be filled with His grace. Most Catholic churches have Missions set up to serve the poor, and the homebound, teaching our faith through CCD Classes, or even suggesting a new Mission to your pastor where you have experience and are trained.
Even when we are stretched for time there are often elderly neighbors who would love to attend Mass but are no longer capable of driving. Here is a good service for God that does not place a burden on one’s time. Maybe you could simply drop off some canned goods, or toothpaste in the barrel in the Hall for the needy. Some individuals who are technically inclined, or are licensed Electricians or Plumbers could provide an hour of work or so on their days off to the church.
God spoke and He said; “Whatever you do for the least of your brethren, you do unto Me.” For those who have spent years keeping Jesus as their daily priority, often become so entwined with Christ that they feel the most joy in Evangelizing to bring people closer to God because they realize how much God wants everyone to come closer.
As god promised; He will never leave us, it is we who leave Him. When He told the Apostles that He must return to the One who sent Him. He said but I will send the Holy Spirit to be with you.
