The Snow
What Do You Seek
Zacchaeus had to climb a tree
His stature not tall small in height was he
His goal grand today for a tax collector
His goal to give up and give back to be with Jesus our Savior
Am I willing to give up even half my treasures
I’ve earned them these are my collectibles
But what are they to the poor in Nigeria
Or those suffering from Godless bandits and malaria
Am I willing to give up my riches
My ability to enjoy gourmet dishes
For what are these lofty secular goals
Do they bring me joy or do they bring me woes
I see the poor the downtrodden
Some appear miserable for they’ve been long forgotten
But those I see those I meet and greet
Appear happy with any and all I bring for clothing and to eat
They who have what appears to be none
Are laughing smiling having fun
Maybe then it’s not what we do or what we think
Maybe it’s time that we listen to Him Jesus Christ our King
For it is they who have least who have the most
It is they who are truly found and not lost
Having nothing means you must rely on faith and on prayer
Those who do not have a worry or nary a care
Zacchaeus learned what he had to do
Give up half if not all and give some back too
We should really ponder about what he did
For we will gain all by giving up and getting rid
Amen
