Do you want to be well? At every Mass, this phrase is prayed before Communion. "Oh Lord, I am not worthy to recieve You, but just say the Word, and my soul will be healed."
What 'word' Lord heals us? Jesus? Yes, for Jesus is the Word made flesh. But, how about ALL the Words of the Lord found in our Scripture? There are over 600 promises of God's found in the Bible. All of which, are God's presciptions for good health! if read daily, His Word will lead us to full health and healing of our minds, bodies and spirits. IF read daily!! Out loud too, for 'if we speak or say the Word, we will be healed.
Lecto Devino suggests you read and meditate on the Words spoke to you. They may have been spoken first to the prophets and apostles--but all of those quotes of our Lord---are spoken to us! God speaks to You, seek Him and His Words will become alive within your spirit!
Make His Words actions of obedience, because when we love God then we want to 'digest' those words into our beings. Jesus was the Word made flesh. Daily, doing "this" in remembrance of Me, the bread and wine is blessed and changed into the BEING of Jesus that we recieve. What about us?
What about those WORDS spoken by God? Live these, remembering what God has asked of us. If you love Me, you will keep My Words, and do My Will. Jesus meant it when He said--"If you believe, you can do greater things than I did--IF YOU BELIEVE." John 14 v 12. Do you believe this promise? Just what do you believe when you read the Words of God? God does not lie--do you believe in all He spoke to us?
In God's love for us, He knew that obedience to His Words is the way of salvation here on earth. If we do not obey, we suffer, and become unhealthy as the end result of our sinful disobedience.
Take the example of the crippled man at the pool of Bethsada---when asked, do you want to be well, his reply---'no one wil help me!' Like many, we blame others for our failures, and our misery. Therefore, we will not rise, take up our lifes and walk into wellness. Making excuses, blaming others---cripples you!
Do you want to be well? Then read, meditate and incorporate God's Words into you daily life. Negative attitudes; ie, whining, complaining, worrying, stressing out, getting angry and hateful--all of this will lead to a miserable life, eventually earlier death, and maybe even the loss of your soul!
Let us all be Blessed, broken and given by becoming the living bread as Jesus was!
Many Catholics may think that showing up for Mass weekly or even daily; receiving the Eucharist is enough for their salvation. Is it? Not if God's Word isn't obeyed, and becomes alive in your heart, mind and spirit. Here the Word of God and LIVE!! "You have been told ol people what to do. Choose life or choose death." Open up the Bible and a whole new world will be opened up to you! Peace be with you--it is your choice.
