Approaching the Needle's Eye
A Christmas Story
*To be read to your children :)
Twas the 'very beginning of the night before all nights.' Not a creature was stirring, for there were none to be found-- yet.
Chapter One: In the Beginning
"Mom and Dad, do you believe in God?"
"We are glad you are asking that, but why are you asking us that? We go to church, and pray here at home."
"Well the teacher said that everything that was created was created with one Big Bang, and that is how the sun happened and the moon too!! I think she does not want us to believe God made the sun."
"Let us look at why teacher thinks that child. There is something called Science and very smart people believe that only 'science' can explain how the Sun and all else came into this darkest 'night'.
According to scientist: This Big Bang theory tells us that when the universe began, it was just hot, tiny particles mixed with light and energy. It was nothing like what we see now. As everything expanded and took up more space, it cooled down.
The tiny particles grouped together. They formed atoms. Then those atoms grouped together. Over lots of time, atoms came together to form stars and galaxies.
The first stars created bigger atoms and groups of atoms. That led to more stars being born. At the same time, galaxies were crashing and grouping together. As new stars were being born and dying, then things like asteroids, comets, planets, and black holes formed!"
This is one very hard to explain and understand this theory and even I wonder how all of creation started this way. I wonder if the scientist just want the world to believe that they really smart." The Dad laughs and shakes his head.
Smiling the child replies. "I am beginning to wonder ---how can anyone know the truth. What about you, Mom and Dad? How did you come to know the truth about the creation of the whole universe?"
"This is what is called Faith. We did what we were taught to do. We asked God to come and teach us the truth. That is when the Holy Spirit heard our prayer and into our inner being and hearts and He came and gave us the best gifts of all. Faith, Hope and Love. Come let us go and enjoy the gifts of 'outside' and talk more tomorrow. I love to play--I Spy God with you!"
"Yes, I love playing that with you!"
