God is Omnipotent
The Birth of Christ
Eileen Renders December 2023
The birth of the Son of God is nearing, and His people are working diligently to decorate their homes and front lawns with acknowledgment. We will be giving and sharing in gratitude and in imitating God’s love for us. Let us not forget to prepare our hearts with a soft warm place that is contemplative of how God sent His son to cleanse us from sin and save us from the fires of hell.
Jesus was a child of humility and obedience to His Father in heaven and His earthly parents. Working beside St. Joseph, His earthly stepfather, and going to the Temple to listen and learn, for He knew well the sacrifice He was to endure in the future for the redemption of our souls. And He willingly agreed to this painful death for the sake of us here on earth. What love, what mercy, and what a sacrifice.
Through His death, we were redeemed, and able to receive the love, graces, and many blessings He wanted to gift us with. Yet, Jesus taught His Apostles through His life and words so that they could pass down all His words to every one of us. He gave us the Ten Commandments to live by lest we once again our souls become unable to receive Christ’s graces. Therefore, all of us need to be reminded; God through His only Son saved us from death with an unclean heart and soul through Christ’s death on the Cross. However, Christ instituted the Sacraments, such as Baptism to remove Original sin, the sacrament of Confirmation that we might receive the Holy Spirit, and the sacrament of Reconciliation that we each have the opportunity to remain in the state of grace. In remaining in the state of grace, we can receive the sacrament of Holy Communion and receive the body and blood of Jesus Christ each time we go to Mass.
God gave us the ability to remain in the state of grace through the practicing of the Ten Commandments and in frequenting the sacraments. None of us are worthy of heaven, however by focusing on His desire for how we should live, and being obedient and loyal to His teachings, we have been told that we can enter into His Kingdom when our life is over here on earth.
