Advent and Christmas Mysteries of the Rosary
Last year, a new and unique set of mysteries of the rosary were prayed by Cardinal Timothy Dolan. Unlike the four sets that Catholics are accustomed to, this set can help us to deepen our prayer life as we prepare for the real reason for the season, Jesus.
These ten seasonal mysteries can really help us go deeper into our prayerful preparation of Christmas.
Advent Mysteries
1st- Hopeful message of the coming of the messiah
2nd- Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary
3rd- Annunciation to Zechariah
4th- Annunciation to St. Joseph
5th- Birth of St. John the Baptist

An Alternate Set of Christmas mysteries
1st Mystery: Gabriel the Archangel appears to Zechariah.
2nd Mystery: Gabriel the Archangel appears to Joseph and Mary.
3rd Mystery: Joseph and Mary arrive to Bethlehem.
4th Mystery: The arrival of the shepherds.
5th Mystery: The Star of Bethlehem illuminates the way of the Three Wise Men.
