Without Forgiveness we shall destroy our souls!
The Essence of Time as we move towards Eternity
Each of us looks at tomorrow with a scrutiny of wonderment. Always questioning what it will bring to me or my loved ones. There is the old adage of “if I only had a crystal ball” behooves many to want the answers to an immediate future, just moments away. The world has always had soothsayers who supposedly could foretell the future warning of impending troubles. When Saul became threatened by the Philistines he sought a woman who could muster up a prophet for counsel. When Samuel was awakened from eternal sleep Saul found an answer to his future he didn’t want. (1 Sm 28: 4 - 25). This could bring many to their knees using these types of future mediums instead of having faith in God.
As children, there were ouija boards that attracted people to use them for fun. But fun is not the byword since these games are playing with the devil on his terms. “Let there not be found among you anyone who immolates his son or daughter in the fire; nor a fortune-teller, soothsayer, charmer, diviner, or a caster of spells, nor one who consults ghosts and spirits or seeks oracles from the dead. Anyone who does such things is an abomination to the Lord, and because of such abominations the Lord your God, is driving these nations out of your way.” (Dt 18: 10 - 12). Saul was doing exactly this and had nothing but distress from it.
Many people from history and even presently always want to learn or subscribe to the unknown. They would rather be at peace if they knew what awaits us without that knowledge. To search for a tomorrow that awaits all of us it is better to leave that unseen rather than play with things that are not ours to know.
Time itself is a movement from a recent past into a present existence, and without understanding it, a future that awaits us with no expectations since it already has been deemed by God. The best way to describe time as a movement is to move spiritually towards God and the eternal existence that awaits each one of us. Our past is one of forgiveness. The present aurora is holding to the Truth that Christ presented to us. Eternity will become the present life we saw as a future that will embrace our wonderment that now has arrived through Christ’s Passion and love
Scripture placed a secure verse regarding the past, presence, and future as Christians who come to Christ. “And being assembled together with them, he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, said he, you heard from me: for John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” (Acts 1: 4 - 5).
Again prior to his Ascension into heaven Jesus said: “It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has established by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1: 7 - 8).
