Understanding the King Holiday: A Reflection and a Poem
It is the Year of Jubilee.
I walked through Holy Doors,
prayed an “Our Father,”
spoke quietly to Mary. I enjoyed
special mercy only God can impart
on Tuesday in Charlotte at the Cathedral.
Today I made a Spiritual Communion,
missing Sunday Mass. I longed to go
but could not.
Today and every day, Father,
You give me the promised “daily bread.”
Sometimes that bread is mercy,
but today I needed grace.
You blessed me and gave me Yourself,
joined me to You with a bond
no one can break.
