Increase My Faith in You

With belief you receive the desire to serve, a sense that all is possible with faith, and you receive eternal life.

Faith isn't something God is required to give us.  It is a gift that He gives us, freely and joyfully, when we ask for it.  With this gift, we learn who He is, what He does, and what His plan is for us.  We come to understand that which we may not have understood before.

The dawn of understanding opens us to a more intimate appreciation of God, what we have in each other and the grace within us we can offer to others.  Beyond our appreciation and thankfulness to God, we must share it with others; allow it to be a radiant light that spreads warmth and reassurance and love.  The light of God becomes an invitation to others to share in its warmth, to ask for and receive His gift of Faith.

Maintaining faith isn't easy. Our life is an obstacle course of daily challenges, some of which are desperately hard to overcome.  Ask for God's help.  Fight to increase your faith and make it solid; energize your heart to keep it open to joy and fearlessness.

Take your faith and spread outward; do not retreat into yourself.  Faith, unshared, cannot work; it cannot do its job.  Like the apostles, we must bring faith into the light so that it may flourish in the darkest places.

Dear Father,

My daily challenges, large or small, and the suffering I receive, I offer to you.  Little as it may be, I accept it and offer it up on behalf of those suffering souls that their burdens may be lightened and their example be a lesson to the world.
