Christians should live as Christians in a pagan world
Note: Normally, I would have huge chunks of text for you to read (because y'all WILL be reading the Bible when you read my articles), but my glasses broke and I am mostly blind in my right eye, so I did this for now, PLEASE look up the verses on your own, at least until I get my new glasses, I prefer to type by hand rather than copy and paste).
You know, I have to say one of the worst arguments against the sinlessness of Mary is that she herself called God her Saviour. (Lk 1:46-55), Well, yes. She was saved from sin before ever committing one. God would still be her Saviour. I have a challenge to those who will quote Romans 3:23 to try to "prove" Mary was a sinner. Go read Psalm 14. You'll note that's what Paul had in mind when he wrote those words. Now, with that in mind, consider what Paul probably meant. Also, if we mean that to an absolute extent, well then, this would mean that Jesus was also a sinner. But we know that can't be true, because Jesus was like us in all things EXCEPT sin. (Hebrews 4:15). So, it does not seem to me to be an absolute statement on who sins or who doesn't sin. Now, some people will make an argument over this about freewill and what not (and yes, Mary had freewill). Let's put that aside, because, quite frankly, I'm not qualified enough in that area to answer.
As of this writing, it's only a few days until Christmas day. This is the time of year (along with Easter) that secular media ramps up its attacks against Christianity in general. Slinging verses at each other is unproductive when we have a common foe. Not to say we should think of them in that way, but when I was watching something many years ago on the History Channel, the Orthodox priest (besides misunderstanding how Catholics think of hell), I was surprised to see didn't push back on the claim that Mary had other children (truth is, I don't think he was asked), and I will let someone else deal with that one, but I am surprised he didn't mention that both Catholic and Orthodox tradition, with pretty good ancient evidence, believe that Mary had no other children, or at least biological. (It is possible that she had step children). This is what we're fighting against. It should be a common cause to ALL Christians to stand for Christian tradition against those that deny what Christians have always known, against secular media, sadly, other Christians.
To wrap it up though, please show me chapter and verse where it says Mary committed a sin. It's really easy to argue from a single isolated quote, taken out of context for a position, this is why I ALWAYS tell people, read Bible verses IN CONTEXT. Even the verses I quoted, I still want you to read in context. Know you Bible.
