A Birthday Gift For The Baby Jesus

We contemplate God’s gift to all of us in sending down His only son to earth so that He might teach us by His example and surrender His flesh and blood and be nailed to a cross to save us from damnation.
What can we give to Him this Christmas as our gift? We might offer many gifts to God, yet what is it that He really desires from us this Christmas? Perhaps He wants us to pray fervently for the children being slaughtered in GAZA, and the thousands of migrants trying to escape persecution in other countries and cross rivers with a baby in arms. We believe our loving God desires peace on earth and a sincere love for one another. Yet we see more war for power that creates harm and injustice.
It is fair to say that God wants us to show our empathy and pick up our mighty swords of prayer, meditation, visiting the sacraments more often. God gives us the tools to win over evil, therefore it is up to us to stand up for the weak, for the inhumanities that we are witnessing in our daily newscasts.
Let us join together in prayer, in your home, in my home, and in every home in every country that has belief and trust in the sacrifice of God’s only son, Jesus Christ. Let us dedicate our intellect, strength, and obedience to serving God and bringing peace on earth to all. This would perhaps be a gift that Jesus Christ would surely smile upon.
