Rachel Mourns

For all of her children Rachel cried 

Because they all had forever died

Just as all the boys Herod murdered 

Because of his fear of Jesus by a sword skewered

Their crime appearing near the time of the Great Birth

Their punishment the same as the Baptist their death

So innocent so blameless so young and so helpless 

A millstone round the neck to those who maim them you who are the evil and worthless 

Pray for all the innocents taken now and then

Hope and pray they are forever with our Lord Jesus in Heaven 

Pray that we as a society learn and grow 

To stop hurting our children these our seeds we did sow

Pray with fervor and truly mourn 

All the young souls and especially those not even allowed to be born 

Amen
