Here’s To A Life Well Spent

   We all are given one life to live, therefore we need to spend it in the best manner we can. Balance is the word that comes to mind for me. Being human and imperfect as we all are, it is sometimes, balance that we lose. We totter and wobble when it comes to assessing where we fit in within our society.

   We may all be guilty of this imbalance in our perspective at one time, or another in our lives where we compare ourselves with others, and decide that we are above another because they are uneducated, or lack the type of class, or etiquette that we may possess. In other comparisons, we may believe that we are inferior to those who are millionaires, TV personalities, or people who reside in mansions.

   In such cases, we place ourselves in a position to consider ourselves to be fit judges. Today, I want to remind myself and others, that God created us all equal.

God does not judge us by our monetary value, nor the way we speak, or dress. Nor is it our celebrity, our mansion, or our cars that define who we are.

   Although we all realize this, the evil one is always working to have us to rid us of God-like qualities, qualities such as humility, empathy, mercy, and love. For at the end of our lives, we all must succumb to the death of our bodies, our money, and our celebrity. God will judge us upon how we loved God and therefore lived each day attempting to the very best of our abilities to live by Christ’s example as He lived during His brief time here on earth.

   It is not necessary that any one of us should dwell upon death unless, of course, we are in a joyful spirit contemplating our acceptance into heaven by God. However, balance requires us to remember that we, all of us, were given the breath of life by the same creator. Those who live with severe disabilities often require a helping hand, they have a disadvantage in securing work, and a positive attitude and may need a helping hand once in a while from others who have been born into a family with advantages. Balance in life requires understanding, compassion, empathy, and humility for these are the qualities that make the world a better temporary home.
